Good clothes.
Longer lives.
Wool, dense cotton and weather-ready outerwear for Portland rain and daily wear.

Clothes should get better with wear.
Fallow began in a 420-square-foot shop off SE Alder Street. We opened it for the clothes people already reach for: dense knits, sturdy outerwear and simple pieces that earn their space.
We order small runs from independent makers across the Pacific Northwest, Canada and Japan. We check the cloth, construction and repair options before a product reaches the rail.

Portland made us practical.
Rain changes plans. A cold wind arrives after lunch. The right layer needs to work across all of it without feeling technical or disposable. That is our test for every jacket, shirt and scarf that enters the shop.
We favour natural fibres, dense weaves and a narrow palette of fir, clay, moss, bark and oatmeal.
What earns a place at Fallow.
01.
Working ruleKnow the maker
We ask who cut it, where the cloth came from and whether the people involved were paid fairly.
02.
Working ruleOrder small runs
We buy enough sizes to serve customers without filling the rail with near-duplicates.
03.
Working ruleRepair what can be saved
Loose buttons, split seams and worn cuffs can usually be fixed before they become bigger failures.
The Fallow repair desk
Bring it back for repair.
Bring any piece purchased from Fallow into the shop. Simple repairs are handled locally; specialist knit and waxed-cotton work goes to one of our eight repair partners. We will always quote the work before it begins.
